This year's annual Elegance Contest in Pebble Beatch marks the debut of the Mercedes-Benz Vision EQ Silver Arrow Concept electric concept. According to the manufacturer itself, the prototype is a modern vision of the classic Silver Arrows racing cars, in particular the 1937 Mercedes W124 racing car.

The creator of the concept car is the chief designer of the Gorden Wagener brand., who made a prototype in the style of Sensual Purity, which literally can be translated as “sensual purity”.

The appearance of the concept

"Muzzle" of the concept Mercedes sports a narrow head optics interconnected by a thin LED strip, a large Mercedes emblem on the hood, as well as a large LCD display, which took the place of the usual false radiator grille, and an aerodynamic splitter.

Prototype profile notable for the presence of LED strips along the entire length of the side "skirts", auxiliary LCD monitors and huge wheels R24 and R26 (shod in special Pirelli slicks) on the front and rear axles, respectively.

Car feed represented by an impressive diffuser, a massive wing, made in the style of Mercedes AMG Project One, and a kind of shark fin located just behind the pilot's cockpit.

The exact dimensions of the new concept are unknown, but according to unconfirmed reports, the length of the car is about 5.3 m.

Interior design Mercedes-Benz Vision EQ

The interior of the concept is represented by a single cockpit, decorated with first-class brown genuine leather and complemented by decorative inserts made of brushed aluminum.

Pilot seat represented by a large panoramic LCD display and an original "steering wheel", inside which there is a small touchscreen display, through which the driver can select one of the preset driving modes, control the audio system and other car functions.

The driver's seat is represented by the original racing seat with an integrated headrestwith 4-point seat belts and "EQ Silver Arrow" embossed on the driver's head. It should also be noted that the floor of the concept car is made of natural walnut.

Model Specifications

The power unit of the model is a 750-horsepower electric motor, which takes energy from an 80 kWh battery. According to the manufacturer, the storage capacity of the battery is sufficient to overcome over 400 km on a single charge, which, by today's standards, is far from a record figure.

Much to the regret of Mercedes fans, the Vision EQ Silver Arrow Concept model will not be launched into mass production, being only a demonstration of the automaker's achievements in the field of electrified vehicles.
