In the middle of summer, the Spanish carmaker Seat presented another update to the compact crossover Seat Ateca Cupra 2021. The first release of the car debuted back in 2016, and during its existence on the market the model has gained a good reputation. During this period, the company managed to sell more than 300 thousand cars in different European countries.

The planned restyling was aimed not at a global revision of the current concept, but at local improvements in some aspects. Among them: comfort, functionality and safety.

The development of the model was carried out by the employees of the Seat office in Barcelona, and the production process will be established in the Czech Republic. Representatives of the concern claim that it will be possible to purchase a crossover in the fall. Several trim levels will go on sale: SE, SE Technology, FR, FR Sport, Xperience and Xperience Lux.

External appearance

In the course of restyling, the appearance of the Seat Ateca Cupra 2021 has become even "fresher". The exterior design has new touches that affect both the front and front projection of the car.

At the front, the novelty is identified by the modified concept of the radiator grille and the updated configuration of the headlights. Full LED equipment is now part of the basic crossover package. Also, the designers changed the architecture of the front bumper and decorated it with side sections with horizontal fog lamp accents.

At the rear, the model has redesigned LED lights with sports direction indicators, as well as a new bumper with 2 exhaust pipes on the sides. The 'Ateca' badge on the boot lid is handwritten like the Seat Leon hatchback.

The sporty FR variant and the Xperience off-road adaptation, which is being released as a replacement for the previous Xcellence, will come with an unusual design for the bumpers, side moldings and wheel arches. In each configuration, the owner will be able to choose the original alloy wheels in dimensions from 17 to 19 inches. Standard body color options are presented in the following shades:

Between the driver and the front rider is a massive transmission compartment that provides access to the engine start button, parking brake activation and the gear selector. Also in this part of the car you can see a platform for wireless charging of compatible mobile devices and a proprietary washer for adjusting the settings of the Seat Drive Profile system.

At the back, passengers will not feel the lack of space even when boarding 3 adults. The standard luggage compartment volume is 485 liters. If that's not enough, the rear row of seats can be folded down in a 40:60 configuration for up to 1,579bhp.

A standard repair kit and a spare wheel can be found under the raised boot floor.

Starting from the base, the 2021 Seat Ateca Cupra features a customizable shock package and Drive Profile technology with a choice of powertrain, gearbox, suspension and steering settings.

The car is built on the basis of independent suspension with MacPherson struts at the front and a 4-link structure at the rear. MQB is used as a modular platform, which is found on a large number of Volkswagen models.

The steering is equipped with an electric booster, and the brake package includes ventilated mechanisms at the front and classic discs at the rear. Brembo brakes can be ordered for an additional fee.
