The transformation of a production car into a racing version attracted a lot of drivers, everyone is interested in how the production model will behave in races. In the city of Birmingham, the Autosport International exhibition was organized, at which many manufacturers showed their new products among the racing options. Among all the models, the Tesla Model S stood out well.
The first variants of the Tesla Model S, which were previously presented at the exhibition, were reconfigured. It was a redesigned suspension, steering, reinforced brakes. Not without additional aerodynamic body kits. Inside, the salon is equipped with sports chairs, as well as a roll cage. The Tesla Model S shown inside is almost the same, but lighter than the production car by almost 500 kilograms and weighing 2250 kg total weight. All power consists of two motors with a total capacity of 778 horsepower, while the maximum torque is 995 Nm. According to the head of the Tesla Model S racing model, the car will be able to accelerate from zero to 100 km / h in 2.1 seconds, the maximum speed is 250 km / h.
Other upgrades of the Tesla Model S will also be presented in the competition. All without exception will be equipped with Pirelli tires, for rain or dry weather. Standard batteries with a capacity of 100 kW / h will be installed as elements; according to calculations, they will be enough for 60 km of track.
According to the organizers, such races in the Tesla Model S will be organized around the world, including the famous track in the Nürburgring (Germany). Whether the data is reliable, we will know for sure after the first tests of the new Tesla Model S GT.
