Most car enthusiasts want to see stretch marks under the hood, and the presence of a roll cage will be happy inside the cabin, since, in addition to butter up their "racing" desires, this gives additional rigidity to the body part of the car, which significantly improves handling. Most car enthusiasts want to see stretch marks under the hood. and the presence of a safety cage will be happy inside the cabin, since, in addition to causing their "racing" desires, this gives additional rigidity to the body part of the car, which significantly improves handling.

One of the simplest ways to increase body stiffness is braces, which are spacers used to tie body parts laterally. The "glasses" of both the rear suspension and the front suspension are connected. Roughly speaking, a stretch is like a piece of a simple plumbing pipe. What do we really have?

Stretch braces - spacers for cars

These components are constructed from tubing based on the dimensions, materials used and the characteristics of the particular machine. It is important to pay attention to the high class of welding of the joints. Sometimes mechanics are engaged in correcting errors in factories. It often happens that the body is extremely flimsy and, as a result, the handling leaves much to be desired. Do not forget that in "flimsy" bodies without reinforcement, the service life decreases when damage occurs in the metal due to the corrosion process. The "playing" body part is the cause of the deterioration of safety, reduction of stability with the subsequent loss of controllability. What do we see? With the maintenance of cars in the current realities - the described detail is not a simple eccentricity.

It is worth saying that the inter-cup distance in the body of the same car differs due to permissible errors. In foreign cars, the run-up between control points can be only 1-2 mm, while, like in Russian representatives, tens of millimeters are not the limit. For this purpose, spacers that are not adjustable in their type and are adjustable are created.

Non-removable components are formed by attaching the spacers by welding. The spacer is welded into the body's power system to ensure sufficient strength and rigidity. A threaded joint, no matter how strongly it is tightened, is capable of movement, while during welding, "looseness" is excluded. From this follows the fact that close attention is paid to the quality of welded seams, and guy wires were invented to be installed under the car. This can be called an additional component under the frame, capable of both lateral and longitudinal positioning. Structurally, the cross-type brace holds the suspension arm system mountings together. The aforementioned auxiliary components do not allow the body part of the car to "disperse" and "walk". Materials required for the manufacture of guy beams will be titanium, aluminum, carbon steel and stainless steel. Stretch profile cut shows simple shapes from geometry, like a circle or a square. Also, these additional components are used as decoration, using chrome-plated stretch marks or painting in defiant and catchy colors.

Here are some things to think about before installing stretch marks. Let's not forget that the body part of the car is designed so that in the event of a collision it is capable of deformation, folding in a given way. So, when installing guy wires, there may be inconsistencies in the deformation direction with an additional increase in rigidity.

Safety cage

The further direction necessary for increasing the body rigidity will be the installation of the roll cage for us. Due to the emergence of possible complexity, there are inherently different ways of amplification. The easiest way would be to create arches in the ceiling of the cabin above the seats. It will be more difficult to create a spatial frame that connects the rear and front suspension cups, sides and sills, and, in addition, the interior safety grill into one reinforcing system.

Frame skeletons can be welded or collapsible. Collapsible frames are with a safety grill of the passenger compartment. Welded-in frames are quite complex in appearance and associated with the power system of an automobile body. They are used for serious modernization. The bolide frames are subject to strict geometry standards, used components and installation.

When installing most of the structurally complex frame parts of the car, it turns from 4-5 into 2-seater. This is because the seats in the back are removed for pipe mounting. Depending on their size when mounted, certain difficulties are added. 4-5 point safety belts are attached to them.

It cannot be assumed that the roll cage is an unnecessary detail. A sports car will not be allowed to race without it, because it protects the rider. Steel components for frames are considered to be the main component in the creation process, but sometimes aluminum parts are also used. Safety cages weigh an average of twenty-five to forty kilograms or more. They are painted most often in catchy colors. Some of the sections are made with protection and wrapped in insulating foam or foam materials.
