Let's start simple. The first Ford Ka was introduced back in 1996, then it was a three-door hatchback or convertible. Then there was a three-door version, but now the 2017 Ford Ka has only a five-door hatchback version. It is worth clarifying right away that this is a very budgetary version of the same Fiesta, they have the same platform, with the only difference that the Ka is much smaller and cheaper.
As for the differences from Figo, the Ford Ka has passed more than ten thousand kilometers of tests at the Ford of Europe test site in Belgium. The result is stiffer springs and dampers, a different steering rack, and lateral stabilizers. Basically, nothing else has changed.

If you look at the photo of the 2017 Ford Ka, you can pay attention to the fact that this is really a miniature copy of the older brothers. And this is not bad, because it has modern optics, an aggressive grille. A short, raised bonnet, short overhangs and a muscular bumper. In profile, the Ford Ka, by the way, does not seem like a super budget hatchback, although, in fact, it is. Here you can see the embossed stamping on the sidewalls, an interesting look and knock down. The shape of the cabin is also clearly visible, which boasts a high ceiling above the rear passengers. In addition, the company decided that the new Ford Ka should also be equipped with 15-inch wheels, albeit only in the maximum configuration. Hence, we can estimate that the main competitors of the model are the Kia Ceed and Hyundai I20. However, in favor of Ka speaks, and speaks publicly the catchy exterior. In addition, it is a more liquid option for subsequent sale.
The rear of the Ford Ka is virtually indistinguishable from most hatchbacks in its class. This is evidenced by the simple rear bumper with a black bottom trim, small lights and a neat spoiler with a duplicate brake light. Oddly enough, before the driver's eyes, there is a rather pleasant instrument panel of three dials. Traditionally, there is a speedometer in the center, along the edges of it there are indicators of engine speed and a fuel level indicator. The engine temperature, to which we are so accustomed, is also here, but it is displayed on a small display of the on-board computer at the bottom of the speedometer.
In general, you don't even need to look closely to determine the make of the car, and it's not even the big badge on the steering wheel that matters. The fact is that here Ford is recognizable in every detail. This also applies to the instrument panel, and the center console, which is unusually lifted up, and the multimedia display, which, by the way, works on the Ford SYNC system, but most of all, the brand is given out by a huge block of buttons on the center console, which is surrounded by vertical deflectors for blowing the heater. And this is not bad at all, because Ford has been practicing ergonomics for years and has reached a very high level.
Of course, if we talk about the level of spaciousness of the cabin, then the Ford Ka, to put it mildly, is not on a horse. It is only 1.69 meters wide, which means that the cabin has a maximum of 1.3 meters of space. On the other hand, this is enough to leave an impressive tunnel between the front seats, in which you can put a lot of small things. Yes, no doubt the 2017 Ford Ka is the city's hatchback. But the manufacturer gently hinted at the possibility of long trips using the armrest in the driver's seat.
As for the second row, it has already been said above that the roof of the Ford Ka will not interfere with the rear passengers in any way, but the height of the hatch is 1.52 meters. Thus, it turns out that passengers from 1.8 meters in height will be cramped. On the other hand, this car is clearly designed for other purposes. The capacity of the trunk in the normal position of the seats will be 270 liters, and if you put in the second row, you get about 1000 liters of space.

Unlike Ford Figo, which became the predecessor for the Ford Ka, it only offers a petrol engine range. The ka is equipped with only 1.2 liter engines. The power of the younger is 70 horses. It produces 105 Nm of torque and the top speed of the hatchback is 159 km / h. At the same time, fuel consumption in the city will remain within 6.5 liters, and on the highway will not exceed 4 liters.
The second unit develops 85 horsepower and 112 Nm of torque. Consumption remains within the same range, and the top speed is 166 km / h. In general, it will be quite comfortable to move along the highway at the speeds permitted by the traffic rules. As for the transmission, the car can be equipped with a five-speed mechanics, and nothing else.

The new hatchback will not be sold in Russia, it was designed specifically for Europe, where it will start at 10,000 euros.
